PINOT NOIR PLUMBERG 2024
PINOT NOIR » Plumberg 2024
TASTING NOTES:
Pinot Noir from the Plumberg (Lumperky) vineyard reflects its terroir - sandstone and limestone subsoil - and the careful craftmanship of the winemaker. The palate is juicy and velvety, showing notes of pineapple, blackcurrant, strawberries, plum juice, and even hints of strawberries with whipped cream. The finish is longlasting, supported by sweet, supple tannins.
We bottled two Francois Freres barrique barrels, in which the wine matured for 14 month, into heavy, thick-walled bottles. This is one of the finest Pinot Noirs produced from this vineyard to date.
ABOUT PINOT NOIR:
Pinot Noir is one of the oldest cultivated grape varieties, grown in our region since the 14th century. We cultivate it in our Čtvrtě and Lumperky (Plumberg) vineyards, using vines sourced directly from France.
This noble variety thrives on cool nights and moderately warm days during ripening, conditions that allow its hallmark elegance to shine. Its typical color ranges from light garnet to brick red with a golden rim. On the palate, Pinot Noir tends to feel light to mediumbodied. Young wines offer refreshing acidity and subtle tannins, with flavors of cherries, strawberries, and raspberries. As the wine matures, it develops notes of plums, rose petals, and delicate spice. With time, Pinot Noir becomes rounder, revealing its finesse and exceptional uniqueness. For these reasons, it remains one of the most cherished and valuable wines worldwide.
STORAGE AND SERVING
Store Pinot Noir at 12-15ºC, in darkness, with approximately 85% humidity.
After opening, let the wine breathe and serve it in large, wide-bowled glasses. Temperature is key: when too cold, the wine closes up, when too warm, it loses its elegance. Our recommended serving temperature is 16-18ºC. (61-64ºF).
Pinot Noir is an ideal companion for quiet evenings and thoughtful reflection - you'll continue discovering new nuances with every sip.
